Teacher Profile: Ms.Bartolomei

Ms. Bartolomei
February 13, 2020
Ms.Bartolomei has been a member of Trottier Middle Schools Staff for almost 10 years, since 2010. She is the school psychologist, which is like guidance but, “I do more regular and specific counseling with students, and I also do evaluations with students where I test them and see how much progress they’ve made over the years,” she says.
It may not seem like much, but she works very hard throughout the day helping students. In order for her to meet with students, she has to find certain times for them to meet and make sure that they are not interrupting classes. It also can’t overlap or disturb other people’s schedules. “It can be kind of difficult, as I need to take students out of Academic Preps or Learning Centers to work with them, and I need to make sure they’re not missing classes. But for the most part, I can make it work!”
She picked this job because, “I have always wanted to work with kids, and I love knowing that I can help them feel better when they are going through a tough time. It’s very rewarding to be able to help kids succeed in school and also in life.”
She sees a mix of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders during the day “… to help them feel better when they’re feeling upset or to help them problem-solve an issue they might be having.”
Ms. Bartolomei also has a great personality. She’s kind, friendly, approachable, and trustworthy, so you can talk to her about pretty much anything. When she’s not helping other students you can usually find her “ in [her] office writing reports, talking with other teachers, or in a meeting.” Ms. Bartolomei’s dream goal in life is to travel more. She wishes to go beyond the confined walls of her classroom. Come visit Ms.Bartolomei some time in Room 248 just to say hi!
