The Boston Celtics Have a Bright Future Ahead

The Boston Celtics were eliminated early last season in the first round of the playoffs by the Atlanta Hawks. Boston fans were not happy about the Celtics’ performance and losing early. However, fans were happy with what happened to the Celtics team this offseason.

During the offseason, the Celtics picked up NBA all-star center, Al Horford, from the Atlanta Hawks and also got Jaylen Brown in the 3rd pick of the NBA 2016 draft. The Celtics starting five players, Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson, and Al Horford, could be very dangerous on the defensive end.

At the start of the preseason, Celtics fell to the Philadelphia 76ers and became 0-1 but then finished strong with a record of 5-2 (tied for 3rd overall).screen-shot-2016-11-13-at-11-18-53-am

During the preseason, Al Horford, Jaylen Brown, and Gerald Green proved to Boston fans that they can help the team overall. Meanwhile, Terry Rozier, drafted in 2015, did a fantastic job because he was able to shoot and dribble and could be one of the backup point guards for Isaiah Thomas.

In the center spot, Al Horford is going to make a huge impact on how well the Celtics are going to do this season. says, “Higher expectations are understandable after Danny Ainge added All-Star Al Horford to the fold this summer.” The team has a better chance of getting closer to the championships in the 2016-2017 season. Al Horford said he went to the Celtics to win a championship. Isaiah Thomas also believes in the team. On, Thomas said, “We have a pretty good team- a team that can make some legitimate noise.” Isaiah
Thomas is thinking big in the 2016-2017 season because of the new Celtics team.

On October 26, the Boston Celtics had opening night in TD Garden. Many people bought tickets for the game, including NFL Patriots running back Legarrette Blount and famous actor Mark Wahlberg. They won 122-117, but they blew up a 20 point lead in the fourth quarter. Jae Crowder, Celtics’ small forward, and Isaiah Thomas put up 46 points combined with the whole team making 13 steals and forcing the Nets to 16 turnovers.

The Celtics have had a great off season because of picking up so many players. It might be hard adjusting with the new players, but when the Celtics do, it’s going to give them a brighter future for the NBA 2016-2017 season.
