The past 4 weeks of the NFL, from injuries, to trades, to standing changes, has been very busy for the league and its fans.
A lot of injuries have happened this season so far. In week 5 was the New York Giants Running back Saquon Barkley hurt his ankle and is currently questionable to return, but he has had participation in practice though his participation was limited. Saquon Barkley also hyperextended his elbow, but claimed that he would be fine after the game. In week 6, Trevor Lawrence, the quarterback of the Jacksonville Jaguars, had a knee injury late in the game that Sunday. He announced that he felt fine and that he would get his knee checked out the following Sunday. Another injury that happened in week 7 was the Detroit Lions running back Mohamed Ibrahim was ruled out against the Ravens due to a hip injury and was carted off the field. Coach Dan Campbell said that Ibrahim was undergoing surgery and would spend that night in Baltimore.
There have also been a number of trades around the NFL due to the rising tensions of the trade deadline on October 31st, at 4:00 p.m. In week 5, one trade that has happened was The Los Angeles Rams trading Van Jefferson to the Atlanta Falcons for a 2025 6th-round pick and a 7th-round selection. From this trade the Falcons have provided their 2nd-year quarterback Desmond Ridder with another option on offense. In week 7, the wide receiver of two Super-bowl winning Chiefs teams, Mecole Hardman Jr. makes his return to Kansas city in a trade involving his Jets team. According to the sources of ESPN, the Jets are getting a 2025 6th-round pick and a 2025 7th-round pick in exchange for Mecole Hardman Jr. This benefits the chiefs by enhancing their wide receiver play which has really struggled this season, with their three veterans having a combined total of 2 touchdowns and 35 catches.
In the NFL major things have also happened in the standings. The Philadelphia Eagles have 7 wins and 1 loss in the season so far and have been the best team in the National football conference. They have a 3-0 home record, a 4-1 away record, a 2-0 division record, and a 5-0 conference record. Their winning percentage is 87.5% and their conference winning percentage is 100%. But not far behind, the Kansas City Chiefs have been leading the American football conference. The Chiefs have 6 wins and 2 losses in the season and have the No. 1 ranked team in their conference. They have a 3-1 home record, a 3-1 away record, a 2-1 division record, and a 4-1 conference record. Their winning percentage this season is 75% and their conference winning percentage is 66.7%.
From trades, to injuries, to standing changes, the past 4 weeks of the NFL have been a roller coaster ride for not just the fans, but the league as a whole.
