Many people don’t have a book to read. This problem may be one of the reasons the average American only reads 5.38 books per year, as researched by WordsRated. To help people in the community find a good book, a form has been published on the Hreschuk and Kittleson Canvas page. Members of the Trottier Community have submitted some of their favorite books, and these are a couple we enjoyed.

The Reds have red blood and are laborers, and the Silvers have silver blood and live comfortable lives. The Silvers also have unique abilities. For instance, Nymphs can control water and Whisperers can control and look through your mind.
Mare Barrow, a poor 17-year-old Red girl, finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Along the way, the Silvers find she has a deadly power that threatens to upend the balance of power. As the Silvers hide her away, they declare her the long-lost Silver Princess. Now engaged to a Silver prince, Mare helps the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, take down the Silver regime, knowing that one misstep could mean death.
I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys
I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys is a perfect book for Historical Fiction lovers. The main character is a 17-year-old boy named Cristian Florescu, and a Communist government is in charge of Romania. Cristian is asked by police officers to be an informant; he has to decide whether to accept this position into his life and betray everyone he loves or use this position to weaken the government that has them under an iron fist. When the opportunity arises, he joins a revolution to take down the government. Cristian risks everything to find out the truth, and help the rest of Romania’s people speak out about what is happening.
