There are many new stunning games released in 2023, and this list is just the tip of the iceberg of these amazing, new video games. But alas, we have narrowed these many titles down into a list of the top four games for 2023. 

At our number four spot we have Starfield, a Bethesda studios game in which players are astronauts who start out as a humble miner and then follow a storyline where they collect mysterious artifacts. The graphics are amazing and there are many breathtaking views and designs in the game. The game does not perform very well on non-gaming computers, but if you have a Xbox or Playstation, it has settings that run well on it as long as you don’t have a lot of things in your inventory.

In the third spot, we have Forza Horizon 5, made by Playground Games. In Forza 5, the player is a famous driver who is visiting a racing event in Baja California known as the Horizon Festival. The story of the game is just the players progressing through the seasons and doing races, then collecting more cars. The graphics are acceptable, but it’s hard to compare them to other graphics because there aren’t any games like it.

In the second spot, is Baldur’s Gate 3, a Larian studio’s game where players take control of a fully customizable character and their team set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, where you progress through a world full of monsters and enemies who want to do nothing else but to kill them. The graphics are on the lower end, but it is playable. The mechanics are interesting with a top-down view, and players can make their character do anything or talk to anyone.

In the first spot is Hogwarts Legacy. This role-playing game made by Avalanche Software explores the wizarding world of Harry Potter, but this takes place 100 years before the main storyline as shown in the books. The plot is all right, but, but the start is a little slow. Players can make a character and name it anything they want. The graphics could be better, like more detail on small items around the environment, and there are many glitches. For example, the “hardest enemy in the game” are trolls who will just follow players until they lead them off a cliff while on their broom.

Those were the top four games of 2023. These games are great and shine in many ways. It just shows how technologically advanced developers are right now if they can make these games. If these are the simulated reality experiences they can create now, look to the future and imagine what they can do then.
